Tanny and the Boy's, the Jolly Boy's, the Rhythm Boy's and Energetic Superfly took to the stage and perform like you haven't seen them performed before. From the early 1930s to 1960s the string band, a six to seven member ensemble was the main diversion at parties, so-called fêtes.
Each ban played for about an hour. Tanny and the Boy's is famous around the Caribbean and the world, for its traditional string band music, they are the oldest music making band on the island.
The Rhythm Boy's hails from the French Side. You might have heard them, as they played at a selection of hotels on Dutch and French side. These boys add variety and modern touch at times.
The Jolly Boys is the real guitar boys; band members use a tris, a special guitar, and different banjos, for example.
The Energetic Superfly string band from Anguilla actually incorporates modern music, such as "She's Royal" by Tarrus Riley, with its string band methods. This ensemble treated the crowd with twenty first century music with a string band beat.
